About The Writer

Frances T. Ayala (She/Her) is a speculative horror writer who writes about the horror of remote spaces, black girls with flexible morality, and savage magic. She is committed to writing stories that make readers reconsider the world and people around them. Her work has been published in Agnes Scott's Literary magazine as the winner of their statewide literary competition. She is a former Roundtable Mentors Mentee, Black Girls Write participant, and Diasporas and Diversities fellow. Her speculative horror novel, Known Devils, is currently on submission.

In her free time, Frances loves to buy too much yarn, watch long video essays, and spend time with her dog Maddie and her niece/god-cat Athena. Born in Northern New England and raised in New Hampshire, Singapore, and Norway, she is currently based in the Pacific Northwest. She is represented by Tamara Kawar at DeFiore & Company.
